This week's Press Run features two fun fall events coming up in University Heights -- it's Back to Campus Concert, being held in conjunction with John Carroll University on Sept. 21, and the city's Fourth Annual Fall Fest, scheduled for Oct.15. A DEI Community Conversation with Shaker Teens will take place from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Aug. 30 at Thornton Park, 3301 Warrensville Center Road. Teens are invited to attend and relate what they think about their summer in Shaker, how they like living in the city, and what they believe the city can do to make it a better place for teens to live, and how the city can help prepare them for the future?Final SummerFEST! is Aug.

The Kids’ Fun Zone, hosted by Cleveland Heights Church, includes Catch the Ducks, Dig a Dino, Ski Jump, Squirt Gun Rubber Duck Races, Giant Bubbles, and more.for more information and/or rescheduling.The city of Beachwood will close out its aquatic center season Sept. 7 with a Pool Pawty for dogs. Timeslots for owners to bring along their pooches for a swim are 4-5:30 p.m. and 5:45-7:15 p.m.

Known for years as “The City of Beautiful Homes,” and by its more recent motto of “So Much More Than Home,” University Heights invites its residents to nominate owner-occupied homes for an award no later than Sept. 15. At this market, only those who grow in back yards or community gardens are invited to sell. Only fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers and plants may be sold.
