In recent years, we’ve seen a surge in the demand for apprenticeships too. Someone applies to one of our programmes at MultiverseToo often, even on highly technical courses, the skills that are being taught in universities today will be out of date by the time a student graduates. It’s against this backdrop that the demand for ongoing learning is growing. In fact, radical reskilling of those already in the workforce is the fastest growing segment of our business. Unsurprisingly, our latest polling finds that 83 per cent of business leaders plan to implement urgent training on AI for their employees at all career stages.
This “great retirement” is, in part, fuelled by a labour market that has changed beyond recognition, and a growing gap between the skills that were taught in formal education and the skills that are needed now.
