Prof. Cyril Ndifon, Dean of the University of Calabar (UNICAL) Faculty of Law, who was accused by female law students of incessant sexual harassment has been suspended by the university. Ndifon was suspended a few days after some female law students of the university protested in the school, accusing Ndifon of sexually harassing and exploiting them. The university management in a letter dated August 17, 2023 and signed by the Registrar, Gabriel Egbe, said the suspension takes effect immediately.

The university management in a letter dated August 17, 2023 and signed by the Registrar, Gabriel Egbe, said the suspension takes effect immediately. “The Vice-Chancellor has gone through your written representations and is not satisfied with your explanations. She has therefore directed that you should be relieved of your position as Dean, Faculty of Law and placed on suspension while the matter is referred to a panel that will be set-up to investigate these allegations.

SaharaReporters on Wednesday reported that a professor in the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, SinemAbasi Ekong, narrated how Prof. Ndifon allegedly raped her 20-year-old daughter in his office.
