It comes as a spokesperson for Edmund Rice Education Australia has confirmed an investigation led by the Commission for Children and Young People is underway at the schoolDeputy Principal Richard Brodrick has been stood down with pay. "We are proud of the continuous improvement in the gender equity of the staff, as reflected within the recent appointments of staff within the College's positions of leadership," Mr O'Connor wrote.

"The college is committed to educating students in all aspects of respectful relationships, equity and inclusion, indicating a culture that respects the dignity of all in the college community," Mr O'Connor said. "St Patrick's College and EREA are fully committed to the safety and wellbeing of all students and staff members."A CCYP spokesperson has said legislation prevents it from confirming or denying matters before it or commenting on individual cases.
