"Unexplained absences will be followed up," Education Minister Sarah Mitchell said, as she insisted schools were safe places. After many weeks of online learning at home, NSW students at 2200 public schools are set to resume face-to-face teaching.Premier Gladys Berejiklian said studies carried out by NSW Health experts onHowever, she cautioned it would be "common" for schools to hit with infections and shut down temporarily."Because we don't know when the vaccine - if there is ever going to be a vaccine - is made available. Physical education classes would still be taught at all schools, she said, but it would be non-contact.
