Kids don't have to stay in their seats and can play at the front of the hall

Families filled The Ashcroft in Whitworth to see a special screening of Lightyear for just £3 per child, with adults watching for free.

“It was just like going to the cinema, but all the children could play together at the front if they wanted to. I have just been looking at what is coming up and we will be coming again.” Rossendale Leisure Trust manages The Ashcroft and Facilities Manager Aimee Walker said the hall was able to provide visitors with the ‘cinema experience’ with a huge six metre screen and four speakers to surround the room with sound.

She said: “We made it an informal setting with tables and chairs so parents have places for their drinks and snacks and we have an area with toys on at the front if the children want to play. We also have lots of free car parking spaces at the back of The Ashcroft.”She said: “It was brilliant and great value for money. I like that we could be sat at a table and not in a formal setting and that all the children could mix and play together.
