KANGAR: The management and employees of Kolej Universiti Islam Perlis (KUIPs) must strive to find short- and long-term solutions to meet the requirements necessary to achieve full university status, said the Regent of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail.

Tuanku Syed Faizuddin, who is also the KUIPs Chancellor, said that one of the requirements is to have 2,000 students enrolled soon.

Also present were Perlis Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli, Perlis Mufti Datuk Dr Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin, KUIPs rector Assoc Prof Dr Muhamad Rozaimi Ramle and Perlis Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council chief executive officer Mohd Nazim Mohd Noor. He also urged the management of KUIPs to strengthen existing policies, particularly in the academic and administrative areas, including staff welfare.
