President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. assured the public that the government will prioritize the students' welfare in its review of the academic calendar.

There are recommendations to bring back the opening of the school year to June and the school vacation to April and May due to reports of students and teachers suffering due to the extreme heat.School Year 2023-2024 will officially open on Aug. 29.
