As another week begins, we've taken a look at some activities that won't break the bank

With the school holidays now in full swing, it can be difficult for parents to find new ways to keep their kids entertained. The ongoing cost of living crisis is not making this task any easier, with many holiday clubs and activities coming with a hefty fee.

Nottingham Beach The beach is back in Nottingham City Centre, and is a great day out for the whole family. The beach will stay in the city until Sunday, September 3, and there is lots of sand, a waterslide and amusements you can enjoy. There is also a range of other attractions, food and refreshments. The beach is open from 12noon Monday to Friday, and from 10am on the weekends.

National Ice Centre From Monday, August 14 until Friday, August 18 there will be a holiday club at the National Ice Centre. The holiday club is perfect for children aged between 7 and 13, and will help them develop skills on the ice and improve their confidence. The holiday club lasts for nine hours from 8.30am until 5.30pm, and is £35 a day, which works out to less then £4 per hour. The price also includes a healthy lunch.
