Members of a teachers union hurled abuse at New South Wales Premier Chris Minns as he boarded a flight, calling him 'gutless' and ' a dog' for not honouring a wage deal allegedly agreed upon.

“As far as a multi-year deal, that’s important from the perspective of the state because if there’s going to be a structural adjustment or big increase in pay in year one, we need to make sure it’s affordable in years two, three and four.”

“The deal was clear, I was in the room, with the Deputy Premier, with the Treasurer, to establish this new pay scale. This would have been in essence revolutionary and position NSW public schools in a way that we haven’t seen for well over a decade.” Chris Minns has rejected claims any such wage increase deal was negotiated on with the Teachers Federation. “The Premier was on top of all this information. He checked in with the union, he was informed by the Deputy Premier, he was well aware."
