As the backup QB a season ago, the 6-foot, 180-pound Nones got enough action to pass for a pair of TDs and 184 yards while also rushing for 100 yards.
Bautista, too, was limited but he is expected to have a much bigger role running behind the likes of Garcia and Maddy . Meza was an all-leaguer last season when he pulled in 17 passes for 280 yards in addition to making his mark as a free safety. Moore and Vaquero give Nones experienced receivers and junior Matuz is expected to make an immediate impact. Chavez leads what is probably the Lancers’ strength, linebacker, where he was an all-league player. He’s joined by veterans Mendez and Blea.
