"My hometown is Palatine, a northwest suburb of Chicago. Back in 1993, two people robbed and killed seven employees at the local Brown's Chicken including the owners and several kids who went to the local high school. They were found in the freezer. Nine years later, Anne Lockett, the ex-girlfriend of one of the perpetrators came forward and implicated her boyfriend at the time, James Degorski, and his friend, Juan Luna. The local police later found DNA evidence of Juan Luna on a piece of fried chicken, and he subsequently confessed although said he was coerced. I was 8 at the time, but I remember the entire town being terrified after this. It was like someone ripped the blindfold off the entire community.
