Lawsuit Claims Denver Teacher Strike Could Harm Special Needs Students

No... As the mom of a spec.need student I can unequivocally say that it is more important to get the right people & get them the appropriate/livable compensation in order to retain them. While painful, a strikes result is important enough to support.

Next stupid kidswill be suing. Do parents take any responsibility? Here's my kid. Feed it, teach it, give it a money from cradle to grave. Here's a Democrat. WalkAwayFromDemocrats

Those teachers are so cruel for treating those children like that!!

What will harm students far more is a teaching force that is not taken care of by its school district.

Public schools no longer exist to teach children. They exist to employ union teachers who pay dues kicked back to politicians for whom teachers vote.

Having trained teachers and caregivers means taking care of those trained teachers and caregivers. This is complete garbage. This is just a way to take away the right to organize.

Then maybe they should pay them a fair wage and end this.

Surprise. They're not suing the teachers.

Oh they are that important? Then they deserve a pay raise.

So pay them my damn tax money. How hard is that. Oh wait don’t live in denver.

Teachers are so underpaid that they can’t sufficiently teach, and yet someone wants to punish them for arguing they should get those resources? And that someone is using special needs student as their ammunition. I’d like to see whose funding supported the lawsuit.

Kids w/ disabilities will be better off with well trained and PAID teachers in the long run.

There is a Federal right for students with disabilities that others don’t have.

Breaking news: Trained teachers and caregivers are harmed by not making a wage that enables them to live in their own communities; placing all accountability on teachers instead of parents, pupils; and continued attacks by MSPIS (mainstream politicians' idiot sons).

Maybe...just maybe...pay the a living wage? Extreme...I know...but maaaaaaybe...

A thankless, underpaid occupation that shoulders multiple criticisms from idiots of all types. Pay teachers for once!

Stupid teachers. Public school is a service for students not a service for teachers.

You know what else harms special needs students? Having teachers so tired and worn out from working multiple jobs that they can't do their best and high teacher turnover due to low salaries and overwork.

Waaaaaaaa. Pay the people.

(AP) — A civil rights group representing families of four 12-year-old girls who claim they were strip searched for drugs in school is demanding an apology and other measures from an upstate New York school district. The NAACP Legal Defense Fund sent a letter to the Binghamton City School District on Thursday. It says actions by a middle school principal and nurse on Jan. 15 violated the constitutional rights of the girls, who are black. The district has said the girls had a medical evaluation but weren't strip searched. It has hired a law firm to investigate independently. And they found NOTHING!! They humiliated those teen girls for laughing... this is ridiculous!! “4 girls claim they were strip searched during school search, NAACP represents parents against district. District says they did not, hires lawyer for independent review.” Yeah. I'll give the the presumption of innocence.
