MAKE JOYCE'S DAY: A special request has been made for a birthday card for every one of Joyce's 100 years
Great grandmother Joyce doesn’t have much family in the area so staff at her care home are asking for the public’s support on her behalf. The aim is to surprise her with as many birthday cards as possible to make her day a memorable one. Joyce has lived in Kirklees her entire life, in Slaithwaite and Crosland Moor, and attended Hopkinson’s Primary School with her brother, Cyril. She later worked as a mender at Mallinson Mill, which produced woollen and worsted cloth, before marrying husband of 59 years, Harry, who has since passed away.
