Black to the Lab meets Barbie

Barbie has taken over the world it seems, ever since last week's release of her headlining movie.

As many honor her glitz and glam, one local entreprenuer has found a unique way to merge the interest in Barbie's world and her own mission of connecting young girls with the world of STEM. Kristen Wells-Lewis is the Founder & Lead Creative Chemist of Black to the Lab. It is an educational learning toy that exposes young Black girls to science, technology, engineering, and math through hands-on experimental activity kits.

This weekend she is hosting a special event called"In the Lab with Barbie and Black to the Lab" where young girls will be able to learn about how cosmetics are made.
