My daughter is doing her GCSE and PRE is compulsory. I would rather she learnt to budget, learn change plug, learn how to conduct herself in interviews than learning about faiths she doesn’t believe in. All other GCSEs are useful to some extent....

Been obvious for 10 years
Exams of any sort will show both kids and teachers how they score and if any improvements are needed. Exams are for monitoring their education. Everything else will fall into place. Working from the foundation upwards.
Essential skills is a prerequisite but you still need educational qualifications to compete in a global market where it is expected
Why, because some can't pass them But some clever people couldn't pass practical exams. We're all different there should be a range to cover everyone.
