Wal-Mart has launched a pair of programs designed to help teachers and schools. Here's what's happening:

The programs were announced in a release from Julie Barber, Executive Vice President, General Merchandise, Walmart U.S.

“Walmart’s new Classroom Registry and other back-to-school digital tools make it easier and more personalized than ever for teachers and families to save money and for local communities to give back to their schools,” she said. The registry, available onand the Walmart app, allows teachers to share their classroom wish list. Registries can be found by searching Walmart’s registry page by teacher’s last name and state.

Walmart is also launching its Spark Good Registry and Round Up. Starting later this month, the program will allow public and private schools to create a non-profit account to begin receiving tax-deductible donations via Spark Good Registry and Round Up. The Spark Good Registry is like the classroom registry but instead of benefitting a single teacher, it contains items requested by the school.
