The Nigeria Police Force has reportedly arrested an Islamic cleric, Moshood Quadri, popularly known as Yesaloonaka.Sources told SaharaReporters on Monday morning that Yesaloonaka was picked up at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos, on Saturday as he disembarked from an aeroplane that conveyed him and other pilgrims from Hajj in Saudi Arabia to Nigeria.
His lawyer, Asimi Abioye, pleaded with the court to grant him bail in liberal terms, assuring that his client would not jump bail. "Unfortunately, the accused cleric has been alleged to have shunned the police invitation until he was picked up on Saturday at the arrival lounge of the airport where family members and friends had gathered to welcome him," the source said.
