Hayley Liston wins Primary Teaching Assistant of the Year in the Lincolnshire Education Excellence Awards 2023

Hayley Liston, a teaching assistant from Church Lane Primary School and Nursery in Sleaford, has been awarded the Primary Teaching Assistant of the Year title in the Lincolnshire Education Excellence Awards 2023. Her outstanding efforts as TA reading lead and dedicated contribution to improving children's reading skills won her this prestigious recognition.

Notably, Liston has voluntarily spent hours outside of school time preparing resources and researching techniques to ensure every child makes significant progress. This dedication extends to running a lunchtime reading club targeting reluctant readers and offering after-school sessions. Liston's recent endeavour involves revamping the school library to ensure children have access to high-quality books at home. She collected hundreds of book donations, which were either auctioned or freely given to families with limited home libraries.
