Letters: It’s the state of the world that’s worrying young people and also older ones like me, says Ian Anderson, while John Walter says it serves the government well to focus on social media and take the spotlight off its disastrous education policies

Kids are growing up too fast. No time to be kids. Not slowly building defense mechanisms to combat life. Being used in politics. Both parents work leaves no coach. Social media filling blanks unchecked. Very sad.

Clearly there are many factors - economics, education, politics, etc. However, factor of social media & computer (phone) games should not be overlooked. Social media & computer games certainly capable of creating addiction, obsessive & compulsive behavior lead inevitably anxiety.

And where do they read about the state of the World? It certainly isn't from TV news or serious newspapers, so it must be from those bastions of fake news, social media sites.

I would disagree 100%.

Living in an unequal society makes me anxious.
