Teacher tells mum to pack less food for school

It could be worse. A friend teaches a pre-school class (3-5yrs) in a very poor area. Ridiculously children aren’t entitled to free school dinners until reception. Everyday, out of her own money she provides 4 children with lunch that would otherwise go without.

I’d be more concerned that the grapes haven’t been cut in half, the teachers should be pointing that out to the parent before there’s another tragedy. As for the amount, the child probably just doesn’t get time to eat it all!

Oh my stars, most kids want to play anyway so is it likely the whole lot will be eaten?

Far too much food especially as half of the food is junk- muffins, biscuits. It is not possible for a five year to eat all that. I couldnt eat that in a whole day. Are the parents obese?

Looks nice, I would have been excited to open my lunch box , if it looked like that. Most little kids like to graze rather than have full meals , so that looks great.

My five year old would say that's too much but every Mum knows their own child the best. They could just ask the child. Look at the care gone into it as well, it's quite impressive!

Pathetic, it’s the obese child in later life that will suffer. A five yr old does not/ will not /cannot eat all that junk .

If I put bread on the lunch box, I would not put cookies. A juice, fruits, sandwich, yogurt I think is enough.

Grapes are the only non processed food in the lunch box - a great attempt to get the child to eat by cutting the white bread & ham into star shapes- cheese & crackers , pop corn- choc chip cookies- a fruit drink-my God its a selection that would make an adult over indulge!

Where's the food? That piece of cheese? Looks like nothing but snack to me, but I've never bought such stuff for mine, so I wouldn't know. But it sure looks like popcorn and crackers and cookies.
