Tragic by today's standards --- but fact is, there WAS a time in our culture in the USA when 'black face' was not considered culturally politically in-correct. Often in broadly seen in comedies, i.e., the wildly popular film 'Stir Crazy' w/ Gene Wilder/Richard Pryor in 1980.

Willing to argue, how is this scenario racist? The other examples yes definitely, but this? Get real. Kid and his friend of another race dress up as each other=racist? Get it together.

As a white person, I’ve never once felt the desire to dress in blackface, nor the compulsion to use the n-word, nor the urge to make racist jokes. It’s not difficult to not be a racist asshole. If probing your past reveals any these things, you deserve to be called out!

Republicans were shocked by Virginia's governor in blackface, as we all should be, but now, 'It's getting ridiculous!' This reaction is so predictable.

We should review every action of every politician going back to third grade. Every comment, action, joke, date, relationship, etc. if “we” didn’t like it, they should be removed from office and imprisoned!

Yet his friend was able to dress as him by just wearing Sabatini's clothes. He didn't feel compelled to make himself 'white' in order to complete the look. It's not decontextualized, it is just wrong.

I guarantee you this is opening a significant 'can of worms'. We will be able to dig up all kinds of unflattering things on politicians, over their entire life, if this actually becomes the standard.
