It was reported that Aniude’s corpse was found in the Ekosodin River, near the Ugbowo campus of the institution. A report said the suspects, Kennedy and Emmanuel, allegedly invited Aniude to swim at Ekosodin River, where he drowned on Thursday, June 29.Police spokesperson in Edo SP Chidi Nwabuzor said the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
Nwabuzor noted that the suspects are assisting the command in the ongoing investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the victim’s death. “Two people were arrested because they went together to swim in that river when the ugly incident occurred. Arresting them is very important so that we can know what made them leave their hostel and go to that river at that time and what happened right there in the river,” Nwabuzor said.
