John Kuntz, cleveland.comCLEVELAND, Ohio – Mayor Justin Bibb announced Tuesday the appointment of two new members to the Cleveland Metropolitan School District Board of Education and the reappointment of three members currently serving on the nine-person body. Their terms, which begin next week, will expire in 2027.
Briggs will bring to the board extensive history working with nonprofits, civic institutions and educational organizations, while Howell’s experience includes service as a volunteer, board member and mentor for organizations like United Way, College Now and Girl Scouts, according to a media release. Sara Elaqad, Leah Hudnall and Denise Link were reappointed to their board positions, with Elegad serving as board chair and Hudnall as vice chair for the transition, the release states. They will be succeeding Anne Bingham, chair, and Robert Heard, vice chair, who will continue in their capacities as members of the board.
