Poor, poor little soul. As a woman who just couldn’t have a child of her own I can’t understand for a single second jow a mum could care less for her own little girl than the stepfather she brought into her life?
The worst thing will anything be learned is it all destined to be repeated. Far from this just being the stepfathers treatment it's the school the household and whatever agency failed to stop this that are to blame.
This is the saddest story for a long time, what a shame for this poor wee child, my heart goes out to her. What a pair of bastards these 'parents' are...what a reflection on what some of the major problems in the UK?
Those little eyes are telling such a horrid story! Poor little Amber must have been so frightened. Thinking of all the Angels that grew their wings too early and hoping the ones remaining and struggling find the strength to report whoever is hurting them!

There’s a lot of people slagging the social services off....their budget has been slashed so far they are working staff into the ground. Instead of 1 worker 3 cases, it’s 1 worker 20 cases
And did the stepdads own children get treated like this! Where was her mother while he was treating her like this!

I hope they can make her stepdad accountable, it's harder to prove the abuse because there are no physical marks but it's just as damaging I think
So basically Adults let the Kid down from the shit of a stepdad all the way through the system....nobody cared enough to make themselves a little bit uncomfortable.....yes keeping a mortgage going shuts a lot of people up.
The step father should hold his head in shame. The mother is no mother she didn't protect or talked to her child or listen to her child.

The UK needs, An NHS Safe Custody Service, to be added on to, The List of Emergency Services, for when People phone 999. So when An Individual, or A Family, get into Complete Distress, She or He or They, can phone in, and ask to be taken into NHS Safe Custody, before Anyone dies.

Another life gone due to abuse and lethargic social and school workers. Did I miss anything? Hope the “parents” get what they deserve wish the rest would as well. A little girl is still dead.
I read about this poor girl last week. Her mother obviously chose to put her daughter's step dad before her daughter. They went to Tesco before reporting her missing. No child should have to go through that. R.I.P young girl. I hope somebody looks after you up there ❤
💔I went through the same with my stepmother, I wasn’t as strong as Amber so am still here at 43 & just talking about the woman haunts me & keeps me up all night even though she died 23 years ago!!! Rest in eternal peace Amber, monsters like our stepparents kill without killing!

How very sad. And why does a social worker feel 'uncomfortable' about contacting the family? Surely that's what a social worker should do? Now this poor girl took her own life.
Everybody finds their parents embarrassing at that age, and sometimes beyond.

Yet another example of 'child protective services' not doing their job. Seems to be a big problem in the UK after incidents like Telford grooming gangs which abuse girls for decades. Same thing in the US though, politicians don't care about children, they don't vote.
That needs to stop...
