This is being blown way, way, way out of proportion. Halloween you dress as something scary. Now, although these costumes are in poor taste, they are only Halloween costumes. I grew up listening to black people accusing white people of being racist for the stupidest reasons.
My daughter swam for University of Texas and felt this kind of racism in 1990s. She was at a party and was disgusted and hurt to see some of the white kids in afros and black face. She left upset and crying she called her Dad who called the school. The not much was done.
