I hate to say it but in the case of Muslims if the loudest bigots keep representing our views of them to them they will be correct.
Unlike Hispanics we have a massive amount of repairing relations to do with Muslims because of the War on Terror. With Hispanics there is nothing to repair, they have traditionally voted Democrat for mundane reasons that are changing on the ground.
