He said it’s also believed a second vehicle was “in close proximity” and driving at “a high rate of speed” when it “lost control” as well on a stretch of the highway that has “a slight curve.” “The driver of that vehicle was able to regain control and continue southbound,” Schmidt said, adding the second vehicle “did not stop” at the scene.
