Protesters brawl over California school district’s Pride Month vote

Hundreds of people gathered in the school headquarters’ parking lot where those for and against began to tussle over the global recognition and celebration of the LGBTQ+ community.Around 50 police officers were deployed to the scene,The board meeting did not focus on the school curriculum, and was not on the agenda for the set meeting.

Conservative groups and LGBTQ+ rights supporters protest as police try to maintain order outside the Glendale Unified School District offices in Glendale, Calif., Tuesday, June 6, 2023.In an earlier statement, the district said “intentional and harmful disinformation has been circulating about what is being taught” and said it follows state law and education policies.
