Zero compassion. Too many parents indulge their kids to attend schools they can’t afford for all the wrong reasons. Not me. Both my boys graduated with zero debt, now earning very good livings at Fortune 50 companies.

Seems to me you could get 'crushed by debt' if you borrow money to make ANY investment that doesn't have a positive ROI. Smart investments don't crush you. Only bad ones. And nobody forced you to make a student loan.
I always wanted to be a lawyer. Had to wait until I was 38 to go back to law school. Paid for it all out of pocket with a few scholarships along the way. Zero student debt. Have many friends who have tons and can’t even imagine.
I get debt from your children's loans, but if you're over 60 and still paying your own student loans, you've made some poor choices along the way.
How do get through college with out debt? I was married and had 3 children and I needed to be able to help financially. I went to my local community college, studied hard and ended up as a fully licensed registered nurse. Ta Da! No debt, good income!

When people sign up for student loans, they are not compelled to do so. They are confronted with the amount due, the interest rate and the terms. No injustice here. I am someone who had student loans and worked my tail off to pay them back. Those loans afforded me my career!
