Shriners sending two Calgary high school football stars to Montana showcase game yyc

There’s a long list of big-name players who have played in the annual Shrine Game, including Calgary Stampeders GM/head coach Dave Dickenson, who played in 1991, and NFLers like Colt Anderson and Marc Mariani.

It’s a huge honour that’s reserved for top high school players who have thrived both on the field and in the classroom, and both local players selected this year admitted there was a responsibility that comes with representing their country against Americans. And, of course, it wasn’t lost on either young man that simply playing in the game amounted to contributing to a good cause. Proceeds from the game go to the Shriners Children’s Hospital in Spokane, Wash.
