CHED and DICT signed on Tuesday, May 30, a memorandum of understanding for the integration of technological solutions in higher education institutions (HEIs) through the e-governance system. ManilaBulletin READ:

"We need to be able to integrate IT solutions in the way we do things in higher education. We can start with the most obvious needs that students have which is their diploma and transcript of records," said CHED Chairperson J. Prospero E. De Vera III.

CHED Chairperson J. Prospero E. De Vera III and DICT Secretary Ivan John Uy formally signed the memorandum of understanding for E-governance on Tuesday, May 30 at the CHED Auditorium in Quezon City. "And so therefore we need to be able to integrate all the higher education institutions so that everyone moves along the same line having IT solutions to make this available," he continued.

The implementation of e-governance, de Vera explained, will be highly beneficial, especially since the Philippines is an archipelago where institutions are separated not just physically but even in terms of technological advancement.
