San Diego nonprofit Lived Experiences organizes its 'Care not Cages' discussion on May 30 at the University of San Diego, featuring academics and advocates for alternatives to incarceration

Black and Hispanic folks make up 32 percent of the U.S. population, but represent 56 percent of this country’s incarcerated population]. It’s mostly men who are currently locked up, but there is a growing trend with more women being incarcerated [notes this increase in women being incarcerated since the 1970s].

Ideally, we would have a one-stop place where when folks get out, they go to one building.
