Democratic state Rep. Tommy Hoyt received an email from a"parent of four" imploring him to support New Hampshire bill SB 272, which would establish a parental bill of rights prohibiting public schools from reserving information pertaining to students in the classroom, according to a report.Hoyt replied, insisting the pandemic demonstrated parents are"incompetent teachers" and should stay out of their children's education.

SB 272 was defeated 195-190 Thursday, the report noted, with critics suggesting its passage would"out" students who question their identities.
