According to Dabbadie, the project’s main objective is to educate school-aged children about the importance of managing forests sustainably, and the vital link between a healthy forest cover and a steady food supply.

The United Nations project that would teach Filipino children the importance of sustainably managing forests would create opportunities for the government to work with the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization , Vice President and Department of Education Secretary Sara Duterte said Thursday.

The Vice President said the project would provide opportunities for the DepEd and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources to work with the UN agency.
