We believe that learning happens best offline.The two Stanford University graduates launched Openhouse in Kolkata before expanding to Bangalore. Each of their eight centers features 5,000 square feet of bright, modern classrooms. The company, which claims 10,000 students, mostly aged 3 to 10, charges a monthly subscription of $35 to $50, depending on the classes taken.

Rampuria and Poddar grew up in India but after studying abroad saw an opportunity for a more holistic approach to education compared with an emphasis on rote learning. Their strategy favors in-person teaching, though parents can follow their children's progress through the Openhouse app. “We believe that learning happens best offline,” Poddar says.

founded Petvoice in 2020 to manufacture wearable health monitors for cats and dogs. The collars check on several indicators including a pet’s temperature and frequency of eating, drinking, movement and boldly discharges. If something is amiss, the app notifies owners, who can consult with participating veterinarians. In addition to a ¥1,500 monthly fee, the collar, sensor and charger package is ¥3,850. To date, it’s raised ¥230 million , including from SMBC Venture Capital.
