Scrap. Ban. If your religious do it in your own time. Ahh high school, I think we played Battleships while the other suckers got crap

It is not mandatory for students to attend religious studies classes. It should have no place in govt schools.

I thought the basis of Public Education since the Educcation Acts starting in 1872 was that schools should be “.,,,free, compulsory and secular”.

Fairy tales about a man in a nappy

If religious classes are not being taught by a qualified teacher, then it's rubbish and should not be part of school. If parents want their kids to learn religion, teach 'em at home on your own time.

Ffs - its not that hard. Why is this even a debate? Just give parents an Opt-out option and provide an alternative class for those kids for the 40 minute period.....which is exactly what we did 45 years ago when I was in primary school. WORK IT OUT

Of course it should be scrapped, the govt shouldn’t fund any religious activities, let alone teaching fairytales to children. Plenty of time for those on the weekend or after school.
