Ranait Griff, 30, of South Orange, pleaded guilty to failure to report child abuse, a disorderly person offense, according to a statement from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office. The agreement includes probation and a stipulation that she will no longer teach or coach anyone under the age of 18.
The investigation into Griff began after the other teacher, Matthew Rennie, 29, of East Amwell, was arrested on Oct. 6, 2021 when a 17-year-old girl reported to police in Franklin Township, where the school is located, that she was sexually assaulted by him, the office said. The sexual assaults took place between July and September in Montgomery and East Amwell.
