The principal at Oakman Middle School on Monday was alerted to a student in possession of a handgun, according to the Walker County Sheriff’s Office.
The principal and school resource officer Deputy Greg Warren were able to locate the gun and those suspected of being in possession of the weapon. Authorities said the school’s video surveillance system assisted in the investigation.Authorities said there was no evidence of any threats to the school.
