SooToday's parent company, Village Media, is proud to award Angeline Castilloux, a Graphic Design student at Sault College, with a scholarship to recognize her hard work and passion in the field of graphic design.
The $1,000 Village Media Graphic Design-Digital Media Award is a new scholarship established to recognize an upper-year Graphic Design-Digital Media student who is reliable, hardworking and pushes themselves to do more than what is expected. Castilloux will graduate from the two-year program in June and hopes to pursue a career in graphic design upon graduation.
“I didn’t know I would like graphic design but I’ve always liked art, since I can remember,” Castilloux said. “I started off being into fine arts, mostly realism and I taught myself how to draw.”“I then entered the Sault College program as a fine artist and I was hoping to learn about digital illustration and programs like Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator,” Castilloux told SooToday. “My favourite part of the program [at Sault College] was the atmosphere.
Village Media is honoured to play a role in the education of journalism students and graphic designers through scholarship programs like this one. Talented designers are a critical component of our Village and we are thrilled to support the next generation in their journey.
