Hackers obtained names, addresses and Social Security numbers for as many as nearly 42,000 people, according to one notice.

Our Lady of the Lake said in its March 31 notice that it found “unauthorized access” to its network about Aug. 30 and “immediately launched an investigation in consultation with outside cybersecurity professionals” to examine the breach and analyze compromised information. It didn’t say how hackers gained access to the network.

“To date, we are not aware of any reports of identity fraud or improper use of any information as a direct result of this incident,” it said in the notification. . Personal information can be sold at prices ranging from $40 to $200, while access to entire company data breaches can sell for as much as $4,500, the suit adds.
