Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano joined the event and said the city government supports the PWDs in the city."Bilang alkalde ng Taguig, palagi nating inaalagaan at sinusuportahan ang sektor ng Persons with Disabilities ,” she said.
The Taguig Paralympics 2023 was led by the city government’s Persons with Disabilities Affairs Office and Sports Development Office. The PWDs competed in different sports including sitting volleyball, goal ball, chess and chess for the blind, badminton, darts and shoot out. "Sa sports, marami tayong disiplina at mga bagay na natututunan. Bukod po 'yung value ng teamwork, discipline, goal-setting at camaraderie. Napakahalaga na nakikita natin ang sports bilang pagkakataon na, una, mas lumawak ang mga kaibigan ng ating Persons with Disabilities, mas lalo tayong magkakila-kilala; at pangalawa, maipakita natin ang ating mga angking kagalingan ,” she said.
The winners received cash prizes ranging from P3,000 to P6,000 and trophies. Participants also received consolation prizes.Also joining the Taguig Paralympics 2023 were PDAO head Helario Supaz, Vice Chairperson of Committee on Youth Sports and Development Councilor Jomil Serna; Chairperson on Women, Children and Family Affairs Councilor Marisse Balina-Eron; Councilor Edgar Baptista and Executive Assistant for Health Dr. Cecille Montales.
