– A shuttered South Shore High School could soon become the next stop for some of the migrants landing in Chicago.
"We as a community have been fighting for years to have access to this school once the city unjustly closed it," said Natasha Dunn, a South Shore resident. In 2020, the Chicago Police Department moved in to operate a temporary professional development center. Now, the city plans to turn it into what officials are calling a"respite center."
