Rafee said the procedure for school closures was based on the ministry’s guidelines which stated that school administrators would be allowed to cease classes if temperatures exceeded 37 degrees Celsius for three consecutive days.“The school can apply to the registrar or the state director to close the school, and they will issue approval immediately,” he said. “The ministry’s recommendation is that schools monitor the health of students and teachers.
