Friends and loved ones will farewell paramedic Steven Tougher at a celebration of his life today, at the University of Wollongong in south of Sydney. 9News

"As we are still coming to terms with our loss, our family requests privacy at this time."Jeff Tougher said he wanted mandatory life sentences for any emergency service worker killed on the job and mandatory prison terms for anyone assaulted.

"I know that it will not affect this case but for any future hideous acts, maybe justice will be seen to be done," he wrote on Facebook.Continue reading
