Texas calls itself a pro-life state. Well, what kind of life are these children destined for in our broken system? If we were truly pro-life, we would be concerned about the life these children are experiencing.
One of my mother’s favorite sayings was that we ought not argue with others to any length because “a man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still.” The only problem with principal Sam Eppler’s piece on the teacher shortage is that it was located on the bottom of Page 10A. Public schools and teachers will benefit from the support of their communities and the state and be so much more equipped to serve all their students without the divisive social and political agendas of a small group of people. Our children deserve nothing less, and our country’s future absolutely depends on it.With everything that has been playing out in Tennessee, perhaps we can take away one conclusion: hope.
