Saturday's Frosh-Soph Championships at Del Norte High School will feature four ninth-graders capable of making a big impact

Two-time Olympic gold medalist Monique Henderson of Morse was the rarest of the rare, not only performing at the highest level by setting the National Federation 400-meter and section record of 50.74 seconds in 2000, but winning an unprecedented four straight state championships.

Arrington promptly burned a 21.48-second time in the 200 meters in March and added a wind-aided 21.29 in winning the Mt. Carmel Invitational. His 10.68 in the season-opening dual meet in the 100-meters continues to lead the section, and he’s a member of the Scotties’ section-leading 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams .

Riggins is getting all the attention after breaking the section record in the 3200-meter run at Arcadia. Her teammate, the tall and lanky Yarbrough, is sleek and fast.
