The Stratford High School production of"Young Frankenstein" earned more than a dozen nomiations for the 2023 Tommy Tune Awards. Winners will be announced Thursday, May 4, 2023.Many an aspiring thespian treads the boards in area high schools and just as many get the opportunity to be rewarded for their hard work.
The nominations are made after the review of 48 participating Houston-area high school productions during the school year. Students are nominated more than 40 Houston-based theater professionals in 17 award categories. Stratford High School and Houston Christian High School dominated with nominations based on their productions of “Young Frankenstein” and “Guys and Dolls,” respectively.Leading the nominations is the school’s production of the musical “Young Frankenstein” in the outstanding musical and outstanding ensemble categories.
