Point Loma Nazarene got a little bit of everything in its PacWest series againast Concordia, winning one game in a 20-5 blowout and another in a 2-1, 10-inning pitchers’ duel. That, in between opening the series with a 5-3 win and closing it out with a 6-3 victory.
PLNU sophomore first baseman Jakob Christian homered in three of the four games, closing out the contest’s scoring on each occasion. The biggest blast was a walk-off homer in the extra-inning win.Christian’s performance gives him 20 home runs for the year, tying the PLNU single-season record set by Tyler Flores in 2018.
Junior right-hander Dylan Miller opened the series by allowing two earned runs over seven innings. Junior left-hander Cole Colleran did not allow an earned un over five innings in the extra-inning win. The Rainbow Warriors jumped on USD pitchers for 12 runs in the first three innings to put away the second game.Weekend results:
