Jesus San Miguel, 18, was arrested Wednesday on a charge of murder in the death of John Jay High School student Joshua Kinnaman, 18, according to a police affidavit.that occurred a day before at a restaurant across the street from the campus.death of Joshua KinnamanAn affidavit supporting San Miguel’s arrest details the moments leading up to the fight just before 2 p.m. Tuesday at La Fiesta de Jalisco, 7712 Marbach Road.
Once outside, Kinnaman shoved San Miguel from behind, the security camera footage shows. San Miguel dropped his drink, took off his backpack and created distance between himself and Kinnaman. San Miguel then pulled out a lock-blade knife, investigators said. Kinnaman was approaching quickly and took several swings with closed fists at San Miguel.
At that point, San Miguel lunged toward Kinnaman, stabbing him once in the torso, the affidavit states.
